Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This page explains which cookies zenwebmaster.com uses, what each one is for and how you can control them. A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It is read together with the Privacy Policy.
1. The short version
- The site sets one small cookie of its own that remembers your cookie choice.
- Google Analytics cookies are set only if you click “Accept” in the banner.
- There are no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels.
- The optional project brief page saves a draft in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie) so you can continue later.
2. Cookies on this site
| Name | Who sets it | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
zwm_consent |
This site (first party) | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so the banner does not ask again. Strictly necessary for your choice to work. | About 6 months |
_ga |
Google Analytics (only if you accept) | Gives your browser a random identifier so repeat visits can be counted as one visitor. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_LB4GEG7W7P |
Google Analytics (only if you accept) | Keeps the state of your current visit (session) for statistics. | Up to 2 years |
Cookie names and lifetimes for Google Analytics are set by Google and may change. They are listed here as of the date above.
Local storage on the project brief page
The optional project brief page keeps a random draft number and a copy of your answers in your browser’s local storage, under names that start with zwb_. This lets you close the page and continue later. It is strictly necessary for the questionnaire to work, it is not shared with anyone and it is not used to track you. It stays in your browser until you delete it with the “Delete my answers” button in the questionnaire or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. More about the brief is in section 9 of the Privacy Policy.
3. Your choices
- On this site: use the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page to accept or decline analytics at any time. If you change from accept to decline, the Google Analytics cookies are removed from your browser.
- Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends this signal, I treat it as a decline.
- In your browser: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the
zwm_consentcookie, the banner will appear on each visit. - Opt-out from Google: Google provides a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data on any site.
4. Why analytics needs your permission
Google Analytics helps me see which pages visitors read and which ones lead to a message, so I can improve the site. Because it uses cookies and sends data to Google in the United States, I ask first, wherever you live. Nothing changes about the site if you decline.
5. Other websites
This site does not embed videos, maps, social buttons or advertising from other companies. If that changes, I will update this page and the banner before anything is loaded.
